One sourcing plan. A clearer route for every shipment.
Bring furniture and building-material orders into one working brief: supplier readiness, protective packing, cargo handovers and destination requirements.
Process illustration · Service scope is agreed for each shipment.
START WITH YOUR ORDER
Different orders. Different delivery plans.
Choose the closest scenario, then make the handovers and responsibilities explicit.
01 / Single-supplier order
A complete order from one factory
Align the approved order, production completion, final packing list and pickup appointment.
Confirm the actual pickup address and loading conditions.
Match carton marks to the purchase order and product models.
Agree who releases the goods and confirms collection.
02 / Multi-supplier sourcing
Several factories, one coordinated brief
Compare readiness dates, packing compatibility and receiving requirements before arranging consolidation.
Track each supplier, order and expected carton count.
Agree receiving checks, storage and any repacking scope.
Keep supplier references on every consolidated line item.
03 / Project deliveries
Ship around the installation sequence
Separate goods by room, floor or project phase, and plan each delivery against site readiness.
Prepare room or zone labels and a delivery sequence.
Confirm access limits, unloading and on-site storage.
Record partial shipments and the remaining balance.
Four handovers to put in writing
01
Order → production
Approved specifications, quantity, packing scope and agreed goods-ready date.
02
Factory → collection
Packing list, release approval, pickup reference and visible condition at collection.
03
Collection → shipment
Receiving count, cargo marks, shipment reference and the transport document.
04
Arrival → handover
Destination arrangements, delivery receipt and any damage or shortage notes.
COMPARE THE FIT
Start with the cargo, not a headline rate.
A working comparison should cover handling, protection and destination charges—not freight alone.
Shipping options and points to confirm
Option
When to consider it
What to confirm
FCL / dedicated container
A shipment planned around dedicated container space and a coordinated loading date.
Cargo dimensions, payload, loading plan, container condition and destination handling.
LCL / shared container
A smaller sea-freight shipment that can move through a consolidation network.
Minimum charges, receiving rules, extra handling, packing protection and destination fees.
Air freight
Time-sensitive items after checking dimensions, weight and cargo acceptance.
Chargeable weight, size limits, acceptance requirements and all collection / delivery legs.
Samples / parcel service
Small samples, finish swatches or replacement components.
Packing, declared contents and value, restricted materials and recipient details.
PROTECT WHAT YOU SOURCE
Packing starts with the product.
Ask the supplier to show the proposed packing before shipment. Review the weak points, handling instructions and final outer dimensions with the transport provider.
Material illustration · Confirm the packing for your actual models.
Upholstered & wooden furniture+
Protect exposed legs, corners, hardware and finished surfaces.
Confirm detachable parts, fitting bags and assembly instructions.
Record moisture protection, stacking limits and handling marks.
Tiles, slabs & stone+
Keep batch, shade and size references visible on packing records.
Agree support, edge protection and suitable lifting methods.
Confirm pallet or crate dimensions, gross weight and receiving equipment.
Sanitaryware & bathroom furniture+
Secure fragile ceramic parts and separate loose accessories.
Identify paired basins, cabinets, mirrors and fittings by model.
Check protective inserts, orientation marks and carton counts.
Doors, windows & glass+
Match each unit to the opening schedule and installation location.
Review edge, frame and glazing protection with the supplier.
Confirm lifting points, storage orientation and unloading conditions.
DOCUMENT PREPARATION
Keep the shipment information consistent.
Use the same parties, product descriptions and references across the document set. Ask the broker what your cargo and destination require.
Commercial invoice
Seller and buyer details, product description, quantity, value and agreed commercial terms. Prepare with the seller.
Packing list
Package count and marks, contents, dimensions, net / gross weight and order references. Reconcile with the supplier before pickup.
Transport document
The relevant bill of lading, waybill or cargo receipt. Check the parties, routing and shipment references with the carrier or forwarder.
Inspection & handover file
Agreed inspection records, packing photos, condition notes and receiving acknowledgements. Keep the date and responsible contact.
Cargo-specific documents
Origin, product compliance, permits or other documents may be requested. Confirm applicability with the destination broker before shipment.
Start with pickup locations, cargo dimensions and goods-ready dates. The receiving point, storage needs, packing compatibility and loading plan must be agreed before consolidation.
What if one supplier is not ready?+
Compare holding the other goods, splitting the shipment or changing collection dates. Confirm any storage, rebooking and additional handling costs before choosing an option.
Does the calculator tell me which container to book?+
No. It calculates geometric packed volume only. A loading plan also needs weight, individual item dimensions, stacking restrictions, protection and loading access.
Can you give a fixed price or delivery time here?+
A cargo-specific quotation is required. Rates, routing, available space and destination services need to be confirmed for the planned shipment date.
How should damage or shortages be recorded?+
Note the package references, quantity, visible condition and date at handover. Keep photos and transport documents, and follow the reporting process agreed with the supplier and transport provider.
Where can I discuss my specific shipment?+
Use the shipment enquiry to include your cargo and destination details. The enquiry opens the sourcing request form; it does not make a freight booking or payment.
Bring every supplier into one shipment brief.
Share the product, quantity, specifications and destination.
